All about Gymsacs & drawstring bags
For Kids' drawstring bags and nursery sport, 7 to 8 litres is enough – the right Size for Kids' proportions and limited contents of sports gear and water bottle. For the standard range sports club, gym and company handout, the sweet spot is 10 to 11 litres – here full sports gear, towel and a 1-litre water bottle fit together. Yoga and Pilates studios need 12 to 13 litres so the rolled-up yoga block also has space. If you want only one Size in the team rollout: 11 litres is the safe middle that covers 90% of all use cases and feels neither overstuffed nor slack.

Cotton canvasi, by contrast, feels considerably higher quality, takes screen printingi cleanly and is more often kept in private use – the bag the recipient does not stuff into a drawer. Cottoni is the right choice for retail merch, yoga and studio bags, organic brands and corporate giveaways with a fashion claim. For CSR campaigns without a fashion focus, rPETi from recycled PET bottles is the pragmatic answer: identical Polyester look, considerably better environmental footprint.
Screen printingi is the standard for print runs from 50 pieces: durable, forgives many washes and works cleanly on all materials. On Polyesteri, colour shifts can occur with very dark base colours - advance samples are sensible. Transfer printingi (flex or flock film) is the right choice for smaller runs under 25 pieces and for multi-colour motifs with fine details. Sublimation printingi brings photorealistic motifs directly into the fibre, but works exclusively on white or light Polyester and is possible as all-over printing on some models (e.g. BagBase BG910 Sublimation Gymsac). Embroidery is rather unusual for gymsacs because the thin material distorts when stitched - but it is feasible for smaller logos on Cotton canvasi models. The print area is on the front in typical A4 or A5 format.
This is an important distinction. Almost all Polyesteri models in the range are water-repellenti (PU coatingi on the back): they withstand brief rain, damp towels and wet sports gear in the bag without any problem – enough for 90% of all use cases in the club and fitness environment. Waterproofi, on the other hand, means: welded seams, waterproof base material and a closure that remains tight even in heavier rain and with completely wet contents. You'll find this version in special models such as the BagBase Waterproof Gymsack (BG110) or the BagBase Waterproof Gymsac 11L (BG5) – the choice for bicycle commuters, outdoor pool teams and outdoor sports in rainy regions. With normal water-repellent models, water comes through the stitch holes of the seams during prolonged rain, because only the fabric itself is coatedi.

Polyesteri gymsacs tolerate machine washing at 30 to 40 degrees - preferably in a laundry bag so the cords do not tangle with other laundry. Turn the bag inside out before washing so screen or transfer prints are protected. Avoid fabric softener: it clogs the PU coatingi of water-repellenti models and noticeably reduces their weather protection. Avoid the tumble dryer as a rule - the heat can soften PU coatings and fade colours. Cottoni models tolerate 40 to 60 degrees and the tumble dryer (caution: shrinkage up to 5%). Important for longevity: pull cords out briefly after washing and let them dry so they do not jam inside the bag and tear on first pull. Reinforced cord corners are the first wear part - for larger orders, a look at the data sheet is worthwhile here.
Most basic Polyesteri models are available in 8 to 15 standard colours (black, navy, royal, red, green, signal yellow, white, natural, grey, bordeaux and special shades like turquoise or pink). Cottoni and organic models are usually limited to 3 to 6 natural tones (natural, black, anthracite, white, petrol). Reflector and sublimation models are more restricted in colour. There are hardly any Size variants – the Gymsac is made as a one-Size per model, but differs significantly between models: from 7 litres (Quadra QD17) to 13 litres (various Halfar and Westford Mill models). For Kids we explicitly recommend the 7 to 8-litre variants so the bag matches Kids' stature and doesn't reach down to the knees.
Yes - for two concrete reasons. First, many public-sector and municipal buyers now have sustainability requirements firmly written into their tenders (organic cottoni, Fairtrade or recycled materials are frequently mandatory). Second, CSR-focused corporate customers and younger target groups under 35 now expect visible sustainability positioning without being prompted - a plain polyesteri bag with no CSR feature quickly looks dated here. The premium for organic cotton or rPETi bags over standard polyester is usually 30 to 80 cents per piece and pays back quickly through positioning and tender eligibility.
