Army Caps tolerate machine wash at 30 to a maximum of 40 degrees on the gentle cycle, ideally in a closed laundry net that protects the eyelets and buckles from contact with the drum. Consistently skip fabric softener - it glues the cottoni fibres together and makes the unstructured crown look stretched out after several washes. Use gentle detergent without optical brighteners, otherwise olive and khaki tones visibly fade faster. Tumble dryer is not recommended for Army Caps - the metal eyelets heat up too much and the crown loses its shape. Instead, pull the cap back into shape after washing and let it dry flat on a towel, gently bending the peak into the desired curve. Iron only on the reverse and with a clear distance from eyelets and closure, completely avoiding front motifs.
