Explore the rangeWhen the zip hoodie grows up and leaves the hood at home
The sweat jacket is the quiet star in B2B everyday life: it inherited the full-length zip from the zip hoodie but discarded the hood - and precisely this omission makes it the more professional garment. Where the hooded zip smells of leisure in a customer appointment, the sweat jacket works with crew-neck ribbed cuffs and clean silhouette as a serious casual layer. The hotel receptionist wears it over the blouse in winter because it keeps warm without ruining the uniform. The yoga and Pilates trainer appreciates the open collar without hood flapping in the headstand. On the golf course it is the modern alternative to the conservative cottoni pullover - zips open quickly at the tee, closed again while waiting on the bench. The customer service technician in the automotive business receives it as company uniform because the embroidered logo position on the left chest sits perfectly and the sleeve cuffs disappear under the glove gauntlet. In the startup onboarding set it lies alongside the softshelli because it provides the inner layer for cool offices without a hood pressing against the office chair back. Technically it differs from the zip hoodie only by the absence of the hood - but precisely this omission is its selling point: it is business casual where the hoodie is still streetwear. Here we show which fabric weight, which cut and which brand suits which usage situation and which filters will get you to the right model fastest.

What the sweat jacket features really mean
So that you can decide with a solid basis: here we explain the five most important product characteristics of sweat jackets in detail - with meaning, sensible applications and specific buying tips.
Fabric weight (g/m²)
The fabric weight per square metre
Fabric weight is the most objective quality indicator. 280-300 g/m² is the sweet spot for business casual, reception and corporate uniform. From 320 g/m² the sweat jacket becomes significantly warmer and is suitable for winter trainers and outdoor use.
Cut & Fit
How the sweat jacket sits on the body
Regular has the lowest return rate on team orders and suits business casual. Slim Fiti is the right choice for Women's reception and yoga studios with a body-conscious look. Oversizei is rare on Sweat jackets – anyone wanting oversize goes for the zip hoodie.
Material & Fibre Composition
What the sweat jacket fabric consists of
80/20 cotton-polyester is the established classic: good hand, little shrinkage, stable front-zip placketi. 70/30 forgives more wash cycles for uniform use. Organic cottoni is available at Neutral and Ecologie for sustainable positioning.
Zip & front construction
Full-length front zip, metal or plastic
Sweat jackets have a continuous front zip from hem to collar - that is their defining feature. Metal appears high-quality and robust, plastic runs more smoothly and more quietly. YKK quality is the industry standard and lasts significantly longer than no-name zips.
Cuffs & inner construction
What keeps the sweat jacket in shape
Ribbed cuffs on sleeves and hem are the defining detail of the Sweat jacket – they hold the shape even after many wash cycles. With an Elastanei share they stay tight permanently without stretching out. Brushedi fleecei inside is the warming standard, French Terryi the cooler alternative.
Six routes to the right sweat jacket
Whether hotel uniform, customer service company or yoga studio – here are the curated combinations of Fabric weight, cut and brand that work in B2B everyday use.
Corporate uniform with stand-up collar
Stand-up collar models in 280 to 300 gsm regular fit appear significantly more professional than the open crew neck - the collar frames a name badge and corporate logo cleanly. Ideal for hotel uniforms, reception areas with customer contact and exhibition stand duty.
Customer service uniform with utility pockets
Zip side pockets keep phone, keys and company ID secure even when bending – the decisive utility advantage for customer service and workshop. Regular Fit in Cotton-Polyester blend, colours in subtle business tones for corporate recognition.
Yoga, Pilates & fitness studio trainers
250 to 280 g/m² lightweight sweat fabric models with plastic spiral zip for quiet opening and closing during practice. Slim fit for women trainers, regular for men, with body-hugging cuffs and slim silhouette - not boxy or streetwear-adjacent.
Winter double-face for field service
Doubleface and Sherpa lining models in 320 to 360 g/m² replace the thin transitional jacket in autumn and winter. Elastane content for freedom of movement, ribbed cuffs with draught block, clean crew-neck silhouette for field service corporate.
Sustainable organic Sweat jackets
Sweat jackets with the full certificate stack - organic cotton, Fairtrade, EU Ecolabel and fair working conditions. Neutral delivers the most complete certificate chain in the range, Ecologie complements with recycled raw materials. Ideal for NGO merch, climate initiatives and brands with a green positioning.
Budget corporate for large group orders
When 100 units have to go out for company outfitting and the margin is small, it is about reliable basic models in 260-280 gsm. SOL´S, Just Hoods and Fruit of the Loom deliver the price points here that remain calculable - without the goods looking like remainder stock.
The most important sweat jacket brands
Six manufacturers cover more than 60% of all sweat jacket orders - from corporate standard through streetwear to the value segment. Here is what each brand stands for.
Daiber (James & Nicholson)

From fitted women's slim (JN1317) to the Doubleface with Sherpa lining (JN1319) - James & Nicholson cleanly separates Men's and Women's fits and delivers models with elastane content for freedom of movement. First choice for uniform kits with differentiated target groups.
Build Your Brand

Just Hoods
Sub-brand of AWDis specialising in hoodies and zip sweat jackets. The vintage-washed models (JH185) and Signature series (JH124, JH125) bring a slight retro character to the sweat jacket selection. Predictable re-orders and a broad colour palette make Just Hoods the first choice for clubs with a fashion-conscious ambition.
Roly
Spanish brand focused on sporty sweat jackets for clubs and fitness studios. The Ulan (RY6439) with a stand-up collar is the value-segment alternative for uniform use, the Fuji (RY1105) brings bold sport colours. Solid workmanship at B2B conditions.
Promodoro
German brand with a clear focus on stand-collar sweat jackets for uniform use. The E5290 (Men) and E5295 (Women Slim) form the corporate pair for hotel reception and customer service, the E5505 complements with a heavy hoody variant. YKK zips as standard, clean German workmanship.

Which fabric, which cut?
Not every material and not every cut suits every project. Here you will find the right combination.
80/20 cotton-polyester blend
Six models in the range with the established standard blend: 80% cottoni provides the soft, skin-friendly hand feel on the outside and inside, 20% polyesteri gives shape retention after washing and stabilises the front-zip placketi. Typical fabric weights are between 280 and 320 gsm. The safe choice for 70% of all corporate, uniform and club applications with print or embroidery finishing - the clean crew-neck silhouette is retained even after many wash cycles.
Organic cotton & Fairtrade
Sweat jackets made from certified organic cottoni with fair production are available from Neutral and Ecologie. The Neutral models NE73501 (organic cotton jacket with fleece-lined back) and NE73601 (high-collar jacket in organic cotton) combine 100% organic cotton with Fairtrade, EU Ecolabeli and SA8000i for social standards. Ecologie EA051 Okavango complements the sustainable selection with recycled raw materials in a slim-fit zoodie. The hand feel remains identical to the conventional standard - you trade eco-balance and story value for a moderate price premium.
70/30 cotton-polyester mix
With eleven models the most common material combination in the Sweat jacket range – the compromise for uniforms that are washed frequently and must be durable. The slightly higher Polyesteri share provides faster drying, less shrinkage and a stable zip placketi even after 50+ wash cycles. Ideal for hotel uniforms, customer service technicians, car workshops and cleaning staff – everywhere the Sweat jacket must withstand industrial wash cycles without the Colour looking washed out or the ribbed cuffs stretching.
Cotton-Elastane mix & Doubleface
For the body-close slim fiti with soft recovery behaviour, the range offers cotton-polyester-elastane blends such as the 63/33/4 build in Daiber JN1318 and JN1319 (doubleface with Sherpa lining) or the 47/46/7 mix in JN1317. The elastanei ensures the sweat jacket sits close to the body without pulling when the zip is opened – particularly important for women's models with waist shaping. Doubleface models with Sherpa fleecei inside (JN1319) become a fully-fledged winter layer and replace the thin transitional jacket for field service work in autumn.
Taking responsibility
Organic Cotton, Fairtrade, recycled materials: sustainability is our standard.
in the sweat jacket range with OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 as the basic certification on most models

in total in the range - from corporate uniform through women's slim to winter double-face
All about Sweat jackets
The sweat jacket is defined by three characteristics: full-length front zip, crew-neck collar without hood and sweat material (fleece-like). The zip hoodie has the same construction but additionally a hood - therefore looks casual and streetwear-related but is less serious in the business environment. The cardigan is usually made of finer knit (not sweat material) and has either buttons or a zip - looks more formal and is typical for business casual combinations with a shirt. In short: if you do not want the loose hooded feel in the office but still need a quickly openable layer, the sweat jacket is the right choice.
For reception, hotel uniform and business casual in the air-conditioned office, 280 to 300 g/m² is the sweet spot – warm enough without bulking up under the blazer. For yoga and Pilates studio trainers who often put the sweat jacket on and off, 250 to 280 g/m² is more comfortable because it dries faster. For golf, field service customer support and winter club trainers, we recommend 320 to 360 g/m² – dense fleecei, noticeable weight, retains warmth even in wind at the open crew necki. With Neutral's organic cottoni models, the feel remains identical to the conventional standard – you pay the surcharge for eco-balance and certificates, not for a warmer garment.
Both are valid options with different strengths. Metal zips look higher-quality, sound rich when opening and withstand mechanically stronger stress - ideal for premium corporate, hotel uniform and customer service models perceived as a statement piece. Plastic spiral zips run more smoothly and quietly, are more pleasant with frequent opening and closing and are the standard choice for sport applications - particularly for yoga and Pilates, where clinking is disruptive. In both cases, check for YKK quality - no-name zips are the most frequent reason for early complaints. HRM and Just Hoods use YKK consistently; for budget models, a specific enquiry is worthwhile.
Yes, and the sweat jacket is even particularly well suited for it. The back offers a large print area without a bothersome hood – unlike with the zip hoodie, nothing sags in the back-print area. The left chest is the standard position for embroidered company logos (about 8–10 cm), the right side as a name badge position. On the front, motifs have to avoid the continuous zip – either a single-sided chest print or a two-part motif that plans the zip as a dividing line. A continuous front motif across the zip is not possible. For embroidery, a clean image is possible from 280 g/m² upwards; cotton-dominated material is ideal for needle uptake.
This depends heavily on the brand. Established corporate brands such as Daiber (James & Nicholson), HRM and Tee Jays generally run true to size with a European fit - with these brands, women's and men's models are cleanly separated (example: JN8053 Women and JN8054 Men as a corporate pair). Streetwear labels such as Build Your Brand deliberately run more generously on their few sweat jacket models - that is part of the look. SOL'S and Just Hoods sit in the middle with a comfortable regular cut. For mixed group orders we recommend ordering a sample in standard size and deriving the order sizes from it - the two to three weeks lead timei will save the return loop later.
Always close the zip before washing – an open zip catches on other garments and pulls threads. Turning inside out protects print and embroidery, especially the chest logo. Wash at 30 to 40 degrees in the coloureds programme, 50/50 blend models often tolerate 60 degrees too (practical for hotel uniforms with frequent use). Consistently avoid fabric softener because it clogs the fleecei fibres and significantly reduces warmth performance. To dry, lay flat or hang on a wide hanger, not in the tumble dryer (the metal zip heats up and can deform the textile). Pull cuffs and collar back into shape with your fingers while the fabric is still damp. Iron only inside out, keep print areas completely clear.
Yes, the range includes models with organic cottoni, Fairtrade certification and OEKO-TEX Standard 100. Neutral delivers the cleanest certificate stack here – the NE73501 organic cotton jacket with fleece-lined back and the NE73601 high-collar jacket in organic cotton combine organic raw material with fair production and EU Ecolabeli. Ecologie EA051 Okavango Zoodie in slim fiti rounds out the sustainable selection with recycled raw materials. For credible sustainability positioning, we recommend combined certifications (organic + Fairtrade + OEKO-TEX) as well as models with YKK recycled zip, so that even the most significant component meets the standard.
The answer depends on the target group and the business environment. For hotel reception, customer service technicians, automotive showroom, sales staff and all business casual environments, the sweat jacket without hood is the right choice - it looks serious, can be worn under the blazer and does not collide with name badges or headsets. The zip hoodie with hood is the choice for casual-oriented target groups: startup teams under 35, event crews, creative agencies, streetwear merch and club youth. Rule of thumb: if the wearer is in customer contact with older or formal clientele, reach for the sweat jacket. If the hood is desired as a fashion expression or serves as weather protection on the way to work, the zip hoodie is better.
