Explore the rangeThe classic without hood
The sweatshirt is the quietest garment in the casual wardrobe and at the same time the most flexible: no drawcord, no hood pressing into the neck, no pocket where the ballpoint gets stuck — just a clean crew necki and a fabric that warms without bulk. In the start-up team photo, half of the colleagues wear the same embroidered sweatshirt in muted green, because under the executives' blazer it doesn't look like merch but like chosen corporate casual. The club coach uses it as a warm-up layer in spring — warm enough for the 20 minutes before training starts, without having to peel out of a sweaty hood after the whistle. In the trades, the early shift pulls the 300-gram sweat under the hi-vis jacket — no hood corner catching on the softshelli collar. The studio illustrator sits twelve hours in the same sweatshirt because the crew neck creates no pressure points from headphones or neck. Also as a uniform base for reception, café teams and boutiques the sweatshirt works reliably because it stacks more neutrally than any hoodie. We show here which fabric weight and which cut suit which target group and which filter combinations get you to the right model fastest.

Organic merch for sustainable brands
For manufactories, organic bakeries or ecological consultancies: NE63001 in 100% Fairtrade cottoni, 300 g/m² heavy, GOTS-certified. The sustainability evidence is already on the care label — ideal for merch that represents the brand itself and not just an advertising print.
Studio and café staff in series
Barista in concept café or studio assistant with high public contact: L326 in warm earth tones like Cognac or Charcoal, 260 g/m² light enough for indoor spaces with a heat source. Large colour palette suits the interior, price allows two sweatshirts per person for spare change.
Streetwear and design collection
For own fashion labels or limited design collections: L04043 in 450 g/m² organic cottoni, oversizei with dropped shoulders and wide waistband. Massive stand-out area for large-area DTGi or screen prints across the entire chest — the cut that customers expect from concept stores and streetwear shops.
What the sweatshirt properties really mean
So you can make a well-founded decision: here we explain the five key product features of sweatshirts — with meaning, suitable applications and typical classifications.
Fabric weight (g/m²)
The fabric weight per square metre
Determines warmth, drape and shape stability of cuffs and neckline. 280 g/m² is the clear range sweet spot, below 260 g/m² transitional layer, from 310 g/m² a full winter layer.
Cut & Fit
How the sweatshirt sits on the body
Regular has the lowest return rate on mixed team orders. Slim looks tidier for reception and retail; oversizei serves streetwear and band merch with a boxy silhouettei.
Material & Fibre Composition
What the sweatshirt fabric is made of
80/20 cotton-polyester dominates the range: good handle, stabilised, low shrinkage. 100% cottoni takes screen print most cleanly, 50/50 blends suit merch with high wash frequency.
Inner fleece & construction
What makes the sweatshirt fabric warm
Brushedi inner fleecei forms insulating air pockets. Rule of thumb: up to 280 g/m² light, smooth feel like a thick long-sleeve; from 300 g/m² clearly noticeable warmth performance. French Terryi stays smooth.
Certification & Sustainability
Which seals mean something to the customer
OEKO-TEX is often a minimum requirement for public contracting authorities and schools. GOTS covers the entire textile chain, Fairtrade covers cultivation, Grüner Knopf (German sustainability seal) is the state-level meta-seal for tenders.
Six ways to the right sweatshirt
Whether clubhouse, office floor or design collection — here are the curated combinations of fabric weight, cut and brand that work reliably in day-to-day B2B.
Club sweatshirt with name print
Regular fit at 260–280 g/m² is the sweet spot: heavy enough for the autumn bench, light enough for warm-ups. Club colour must be available, size range XS to 5XL for all age groups. Ideal for reorders over many seasons without colour deviations.
Corporate team for the office floor
Ring-spun cotton at 280–300 g/m² with a smooth surface for fine embroidery. Restrained colour palette (anthracite, navy, bordeaux) and regular fit so that the sweatshirt blends into existing business-casual clothing rather than standing out.
Sustainable merch with certificate
For brands that convey sustainability as a core message, the material quality has to match the claim. GOTS, Fairtrade or recycled textiles at 280 g/m² and up, so that the feel also matches the story. Ideally ring-spun organic cotton for clean printing.
Heavy-duty for trades and workshop
For trade businesses, workshops and field service, a sweatshirt has to take more than the office standard. From 320 g/m² with dense weave, robust rib cuffs and colours that forgive oil or dust contact. Regular or Oversize Fit for free movement over baselayers.
Sports club warm-up with raglan
Raglan sweatshirts are the classic warm-up garment: the angled sleeve seam gives shoulder and throwing movements more freedom than set-in seams. 240–310 g/m² for transitional weather, with contrast colours on the sleeves for a sporty club design.
Budget giveaway in large runs
At promotional campaigns, sports festivals or trade fair giveaways, the unit price matters more than the handle. 240-280 g/m² cotton-polyester blend, reliable volume brands and stable colour palette for fast restock when a size sells out.
The most important sweatshirt brands
Eight manufacturers cover the majority of our sweatshirt orders – from streetwear reference to club basic to corporate premium. Here is what each brand stands for in the sweatshirt segment.
Build Your Brand
The Berlin brand defines the heavy and oversize trend in the promotional article segment. Ultra-heavy series up to 460 g/m² full cotton are the reference cut for merch drops and fashion collections. New silhouettes each season, consistent expansion of women's fits and special colours.
Fruit of the Loom
The club and promotional article standard for decades. F324 Classic Set-in and F304 Classic Raglan are the most frequently ordered sweatshirts in the entire catalogue. Huge colour palette, stable re-orderability over years, price-stable calculation at 100+ pieces.
B&C BE INSPIRED
Belgian brand with the ID system (ID.002, ID.202, ID.222, ID.332): coordinated sweatshirts in an identical colour palette across different fabric weights and cuts. Perfect for corporate outfits where reception, field service and workshop should run in the same colour but different models.
SOL'S
French brand with the most colour options per model. Supreme and New-Supreme series in 260-280 g/m² are the standard choice when club colours are unusual or a certain tone (Bordeaux, petrol, khaki) needs to be hit exactly. Organic cotton lines have been strongly expanded in recent years.
Just Hoods
The AWDis brand is almost as widespread in the club sector as Fruit of the Loom, but with one decisive plus: for many men's models there are exactly colour-matched women's counterparts (JH030 and JH030F). Ideal for mixed teams where no one should wear a unisex cut.
Tee Jays
Danish brand with visibly clean seam and hem workmanship. Sweatshirts from Tee Jays look higher quality than volume brands of the same price bracket and are the choice for wellness studios, boutique hotels and retail staff who convey a well-kept corporate image.
James & Nicholson (Daiber)
The corporate brand of the Daiber Group from the Black Forest. Ring-spun cotton with particularly smooth surface for fine company embroidery, over 20 colours in muted business tones. The standard feel for company outfitting that is re-ordered identically for years and expanded for new team members.
Mantis
British brand focused on organic cotton and fashionable silhouettes. Essential and Flash Dance cuts are cut slimmer than classic club sweatshirts and target lifestyle brands, organic cafés and startups wanting to order merch with a fashion claim.

Which fabric, which cut?
Not every material and not every cut suits every project. Here you will find the right combination.
80/20 cotton-polyester blend
With 45 models the dominant material combination in the sweatshirt range — for good reason: 80% cottoni provides the soft, skin-friendly hand feel on the outside and inside, 20% polyesteri gives shape stability after washing and prevents distortion at the neckline and cuffs. Typical fabric weights are between 270 and 320 g/m². The safe choice for around 80% of all merch, club and corporate applications with print or embroidery decoration.
Organic cotton & B&C Inspire
23 sweatshirts with certified organic cottoni, plus 14 models with Better Cottoni raw material and others in organic transition. Top suppliers are the B&C; Inspire line (organic cotton plus recycled polyesteri plus vegan), James & Nicholson JN8021, Mantis and Neutral with EU Ecolabeli. The handle stays identical to the conventional 80/20 standard – you trade eco balance and story value for a moderate price premium.
Polyester content
The polyesteri share of 20 to 50% is not a cost-saving factor but a deliberate functional decision: faster drying time after washing, considerably less shrinkage at 40° wash and stable collar and cuff shape even after 30+ wash cycles. The 50/50 classic (9 models, including Gildan Heavy Blend and Build Your Brand Basic) is the pragmatic choice for uniform and workweari uses with high wash frequency.
Inner fleece construction
The sweatshirt-typical warmth effect comes from the brushedi inner fleecei: the fibres are roughened after weaving so that air pockets are created that insulate. Rule of thumb: 240 to 280 g/m² produces a light, often smooth French Terryi inner fleece for spring and autumn, 300 to 360 g/m² has a densely brushed fleece and wears considerably warmer. From 400 g/m² the sweat becomes a fully-fledged winter layer for outdoor use.
Taking responsibility
Organic Cotton, Fairtrade, recycled materials: sustainability is our standard.
with OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 - around two thirds of the sweatshirt range pollutant-tested

All about Sweatshirts
For transitional weather, spring layering and light merch runs, 240 to 260 g/m² are ideal — the fabric wears like a thick long-sleeve and isn't too warm. The range sweet spot lies at 280 g/m² with 48 models: print- and embroidery-friendly, opaque even in light colours, withstands many washes. 300 g/m² (30 models) is the pragmatic choice for corporate casual with a high requirement for drape and feel. From 310 g/m² the sweatshirt becomes a fully-fledged winter layer under softshelli or hi-vis jacket — dense inner fleecei, tangible weight, warms even in wind. Rule of thumb: spring and uniform use 240 to 280 g/m², year-round team outfitting 280 to 300 g/m², autumn and winter outdoors from 310 g/m² upwards.
The sweat fabrici consists of two layers: the outside is smooth and colour-fast, the inside is mechanically brushedi after knitting so that a fluffy fleecei structure with insulating air pockets is created. This classic execution — usually called 'innen angeraut' in German — is the standard construction for all models over 260 g/m². French Terryi is the alternative construction: the fibre loops are not brushed but remain as visible small rings on the inside. The result is lighter, more breathablei and looks visually more elegant — ideal for spring, summer casual and streetwear layering. For club warm-up in November and tradespeople under the hi-vis jacket, brushed inside remains the right answer; for reception, studio and café uniform, French Terry fits better.
Embroidery looks the most premium and is the right choice for corporate merch, club crests and anything with lasting ambition - works best on 100% cottoni or 80/20 blend from 280 g/m². Screen printingi is the standard for large-area, multi-colour motifs and runs from 25 pieces - ideal on 100% cotton or cotton-dominated blends from 280 g/m²; at lighter fabric weights the fabric otherwise visibly shrinks on the first wash. DTGi (direct-to-garment) is the pragmatic choice for small runs under 20 pieces and photorealistic motifs, but likewise requires a cotton base. The following applies to all three processes: left chest area for logos at 8 to 10 cm, back full-area up to 30 cm.
In sublimation print, the colour is embedded directly into the fibre in a gaseous state under heat – this only works chemically with polyesteri, which permanently encloses the colour molecules on cooling. Cottoni fibres do not accept sublimation dye, so motifs on 100% cotton sweatshirts do not remain colourfast after washing. Practically, this means: for sublimation you need at least 50% polyester in the fabric, better 65% or more – in the sweatshirt range these are the sport and performance models, not the classic 80/20 or 100% cotton sweats. The great advantage of sublimation is that the colour does not lie on the fibre but sits inside it – no build-up, no chipping, no perceptible edge. For classic club and corporate sweatshirts, screen print or embroidery remains the more suitable choice.
Sweatshirts tolerate machine washing at 30 to 40 degrees - 50/50 blend models are often also approved for 60 degrees, which is practical for merch in frequent use. Consistently avoid fabric softener, because it coats the fibre and reduces the absorbency of the cottoni; it also mats the brushedi inner fleecei and takes away its warmth performance. Turn the sweatshirt inside out before washing - this protects print, embroidery and outer colour. Only tumble dry with expressly tumble-dryer-suitable models; with 100% cotton without pre-treatment there is otherwise a risk of shrinkage and neck distortion at the crew necki. Iron only inside out and at medium temperature, keeping print areas completely clear.
Regular is the safe choice for mixed teams, all age groups and classic corporate environments — straight cut, comfortable fit, lowest return rate on team orders. For clubs with mixed year-groups, trades kit and standard merch, regular is almost always the right answer. Slim lies body-hugging and looks tidier — especially in women's models with light waist shaping. Good for reception, retail, consulting and boutiques where uniform aesthetics count. For women's corporate it is worth filtering specifically for women's cut or slim fiti, because a unisexi regular quickly looks too wide on narrower shoulders. Rule of thumb: if you are placing a large team order with different sizes, choose regular; if the sweatshirt is part of a visible uniform aesthetic, add slim models in a targeted way.
For corporate team orders we recommend a Regular Fiti model in 280 to 300 g/m² and a muted colour that matches the corporate design (anthracite, deep grey, navy or a discreet brand tone). Place the embroidery on the left chest at 8 to 10 cm height — this looks professional and not like merch. Calculate 10 to 15 percent reserve for new starters and re-orders and choose a brand with stable availability over several years — Build Your Brand, B&C; BE INSPIRED and Fruit of the Loom are reliably in the range here. For female colleagues a parallel women's cut model of the same colour is worthwhile. For orders from 50 pieces a sample round with two fabric weights before the main order is sensible to check feel and fit on your own team.
Yes — for two reasons. First, many public and municipal contracting authorities have sustainability requirements written into their tenders (organic cottoni, Fairtrade or Grüner Knopf (German sustainability seal) are frequently mandatory). Second, CSR-oriented corporate customers and young audiences now expect certifications without being told — the absence is a knock-out criterion. The surcharge for organic cotton sweatshirts over standard 80/20 models is usually one to three euros per piece and pays for itself quickly through positioning and tender eligibility. Brands such as Neutral (organic + Fairtrade + EU Ecolabeli), B&C; BE INSPIRED (organic cotton plus recycled polyesteri plus vegan) and Build Your Brand Bio are the reference for credible all-round sustainability; Just Hoods and SOL'S offer affordable entry points with BCI cottoni.
