Explore the rangeWhen sleeveless suddenly becomes strategic
No textile in the summer range is as underrated as the tank topi – and none delivers such an honest return per print area. The trainer at the outdoor pool wears it just as much as the DJ on the festival truck at 2 in the morning; the yoga-studio customer receives it at the summer kick-off just as the working student at the roadshow stand in the pedestrian zone does. What technically distinguishes the tank top from a T-shirt is exactly one detail: the sleeve is missing. What sets it apart culturally is everything else – the free shoulder signals summer, movement, ease; the continuous front is the largest uninterrupted print area in the lightweight textile segment and beats any T-shirt with side seams. On top of that comes a range of cuts hardly matched by any other category: racerbacki for sport and yoga, regular for leisure and merch, muscle cut with deep armhole for streetwear, spaghetti-strap and one-shoulder variants for the women's look. Here we show which cut suits which target group, which material is the right choice at which wash frequency and which filter combinations get you to the right model the fastest.

What the Tank top properties really mean
So you can decide with confidence: here we explain the five most important product characteristics of tank tops in detail - with meaning, sensible applications and concrete buying tips.
Cut & neckline
How the Tank top sits on the body
Regular is the everyday classic with a straight silhouette. Racerbacki draws the straps together at the back and leaves the shoulder completely free – the standard cut for sport, yoga and running. Muscle cut opens the armholes deeply and is the clear streetwear look.
Material & Fibre Composition
What the Tank top fabric is made of
100% Cottoni is the classic – soft, summer-friendly, print-friendly. Cotton with 4–7% elastanei is the standard for shape-retaining women's models and muscle-cut silhouettes. Poly-blends bring sport function – faster drying after sweating.
Target group & Gender
Who the tank top is made for
The women's block is the largest in the range (44 models) with a clear selection of slim, spaghetti and racerbacki silhouettes. The unisexi block (28) covers mixed teams, the men's block (24) ranges from the basic to the wide-cut muscle fit.
Colour spectrum
How colourful the summer is allowed to be
Tank tops carry the widest colour spectrum in the shirt segment: white and black as a base, heatheri variants for a vintage looki, plus rich summer colours such as turquoise, orange, pink and yellow. Ideal for events with a corporate colour beyond corporate neutrality.
Certification & Sustainability
How and where it was produced
OEKO-TEX is standard on most reputable models; GOTS and OCS evidence Organic Cottoni. Neutral produces climate-neutrally with a full certificate chain, Mantis positions itself with the Sustainable collection and Organic Cotton basics.
Six routes to the right tank top
Whether gym, festival, roadshow or organic merch – here are the curated combinations of cut, material and brand that work in the B2B summer everyday.
Gym uniform with racerback
Racerback cut in women's slim with Elastane content, combined with men's racerback or muscle cut in the same corporate colour. Preferably Cotton-Elastane blend for lasting shape retention at straps and neckline. Ideal for reordering over the years.
Roadshow & summer company event
Unisex regular in a stable corporate colour, combined with a discreet chest print or a large back print. 100% Cotton or Cotton blend for a clean print, wide size range for mixed teams. Preferably brands with reliable colour restock availability.
Streetwear & festival merch
Muscle cut with deep armhole or vintage-washed models with slightly washed-out look, 100% Cotton for clean printing, classically black, off-white or marl. Basis for large-area back prints, all-over prints and puff prints.
Sustainable organic merch
Organic cotton (GOTS or OCS) with an OEKO-TEX baseline, vegan certification and preferably fair or carbon-neutral production. Ideal for NGO merch, ESG campaigns and green brands that want to substantiate their sustainability claims right on the inner label.
Sport & running events
100% Polyester with mesh panels or poly-dominated blends for faster drying after sweating. Light, breathable, does not crease – the functional base for running, trail and endurance sport with high sweat exposure.
Budget giveaway for the summer party
100% Cotton in regular fit from the volume brands, available in wide colour and size ranges. Perfect for promotional goods from 50 units upwards, where price per unit matters more than premium hand or fashionable cut.
The key tank top brands
Six distinctive manufacturers cover the core of the tank topi range - from streetwear reference and French versatility to US-premium cut. Here is what each brand stands for.
Build Your Brand
Berlin brand that defines the streetwear and vintage trend in the promotional-goods segment. Muscle cut with deep armhole (BY003), vintage-washed ranges (BY429/BY436) and figure-hugging women's models with elastane content (BY208/BY235) cover the entire modern spectrum from festival merch to studio look.
SOL'S
French manufacturer with the broadest colour spectrum in the range – from white and black to turquoise, orange and pink. Solid construction at B2B conditions, stable colour reorderability across seasons. The standard choice for summer merch with colourful target-group appeal.
Bella
American brand that brings the soft-draping streetwear cut to Europe. 52/48 cotton-polyester micro-rib (BL1019) and light spaghetti tops (BL1012) are the reference for women's merch with a fashion-oriented target group under 30 – significantly softer and lighter than classic cotton bases.
SF Clothing
British brand with the clearest focus on women's statement cuts: bandeau (SF115), one-shoulder (SF116), stretch spaghetti (SF126), high-neck crop (SF170). For summer parties, stage, fashion retail and women's reception with a fashion-forward brief - not for conservative B2B contexts.
Next Level Apparel
Californian brand from the US streetwear scene that makes premium cuts accessible to the European promotional-items market. Considerably higher-quality feel than the basic brands, with a clear style reference to US merch standards for music labels and band merch.
Nath
Spanish brand with a clearly fashion-driven women's range. Lightweight Cotton bases in a current cut for fashion retail and women's merch that should be more than just a give-away - contemporary drape and clean workmanship at B2B terms.

Which fabric, which cut?
Not every material and not every cut suits every project. Here you will find the right combination.
100% Cotton
With 44 models the dominant material base in the Tank topi range – for good reason: pure Cottoni with a soft, skin-friendly hand, high absorbency on hot days and the best print and Embroidery uptake. Typical Fabric weights are between 140 and 180 g/m². The safe choice for 80% of all merch, summer-event and corporate applications with print or Embroidery decoration. In marl variants a small Polyesteri share is added to achieve the characteristic melangei look.
Cotton with Elastane
20 tank tops with a cotton-elastane blend, predominantly in the women's range: 95% Cottoni with 5% Elastanei (BY208, BY235, HRM209/210, E1051, MY320), 96/4 (SF series, SFM123, SM123) or 93/7 (SF115/SF116). The elastane content keeps neckline, straps and ribbingi permanently in shape, even after 30+ washes. The standard for figure-hugging women's models, racerbacki cuts with a sporty claim and all tank tops that should keep their silhouette in everyday use.
Polyester & poly-blends
8 models with a dominant polyesteri share, split into two use profiles: 100% Polyester with meshi panels (JN305 Run, BY009 Mesh) for sport, running and fitness with high sweat exposure – dries quickly, weighs almost nothing, mesh-ventilated. And 52/48 or 60/40 cotton-polyester blends (Bella+Canvas, SF232, SFM232/236) for the soft vintage drape in the US streetwear style, which creases less and sits softer on the body than pure cottoni.
Organic Cotton & sustainable production
The sustainable core of the range with certified organic cottoni, supplemented by OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 and often by vegan certification. Top suppliers are Neutral (NE61300/NE81300 - organic, fair, carbon-neutral) with a full chain of certifications, B&C; Inspire (BCTM072/BCTW073) with organic + OEKO-TEX + vegan, and Mantis (P82, P127, P133) with a fair sustainable collection. The handle stays identical to the conventional 100% cottoni standard - you trade environmental balance and story value for a moderate price premium.
Taking responsibility
Organic Cotton, Fairtrade, recycled materials: sustainability is our standard.
as a minimum standard with practically all established brands in the Tank topi range
at Neutral, B&C; Inspire and Mantis - the certified sustainability base for CSR-ready merch
the Neutral line (NE61300/NE81300) with a full certificate chain right through to the climate-neutral manufacturing process
in the B&C; Inspire line (BCTM072/BCTW073) and other Organic Cottoni models for a vegan positioning
All about Tank tops
Regular is the all-rounder for mixed teams, corporate summer festivals, roadshows and beach bars – straight cut, standard neckline, lowest return rate. Racerbacki is the standard cut for gyms, yoga, running and sports clubs – the straps meet at the back, the shoulder stays free during overhead movements and bra straps stay hidden. Muscle cut with deep armhole is the streetwear look for music festivals, band merch and gyms with an athletic target group. For women's appearances with ambition, Slim Fiti models (BY208, BY235, HRM209/210) offer more fitted silhouettes than the Unisexi sack – noticeably more precise Fit at reception, studio and stage. Spaghetti, bandeau and one-shoulder variants (SF115, SF116, HRM209) are deliberate statement cuts – deployable for summer parties and stage, not for conservative B2B contexts.
100% Cottoni is the summer classic with a soft hand, high absorbency and the best print and embroidery uptake – 44 of the 96 models in the range are pure cotton. It is the right choice for standard merch, corporate summer parties and all runs where the tank topi is printed or embroidered. Cotton with 4–7% elastanei (BY208, BY235, HRM209/210, E1051, MY320) is the standard for figure-hugging women's models – neckline, straps and ribbingi keep their shape permanently, even after 30 washes. Poly-blends (52/48 like Bella+Canvas or 60/40 like SF232) have a soft vintage drape in the US streetwear style and hardly crease. 100% Polyesteri (BY009 Meshi, JN305 Run) is the sport function – dries considerably faster after sweating, weighs practically nothing and is mesh-ventilated for endurance use.
Tank tops have the largest uninterrupted print area in the lightweight textile segment - the continuous front without side seams allows motifs up to 30 cm without compromise. Standard positions are a large front print (up to 30 cm), left chest (discreet, 8-10 cm) and a large back print. A sleeveless cut also means no sleeve print is possible - instead, the side of the back panel under the armhole is a niche position. For screen printingi and DTGi, 100% Cottoni is the cleanest base; sublimation only works on polyesteri models (BY009, JN305). Embroidery sits cleanly on all Cotton bases from standard fabric weight. Important for heatheri and vintage-washed models: coloured prints look more muted on them than on smooth base colours - for prominent logos, request a sample beforehand. For wrap-around and all-over sublimationi, choose only pure white polyester bases.
For fitness and yoga studios we recommend racerbacki cuts in women's and men's versions (RY6535, BY208 for women; BY003 or E1050 for men) with a Cotton-Elastane blend for lasting stability at the straps and neckline. For sports clubs with a running or endurance focus, polyesteri models like the JN305 with meshi inserts are the right choice – quick-drying, breathablei, lightweight. Studio uniforms should be ordered in a stable CI colour (black or a signal colour); printing is usually on the front or the left chest area with the studio logo. For coach kit at the outdoor pool or on-site, unisexi regular models with a discreet print are the pragmatic standard – no guessing for mixed teams. From 25 units upwards, women's and men's versions of the same model can be combined, preserving the unified look.
Tank tops tolerate machine washing at 30 to 40 degrees - most Cottoni and blend models are approved for 40 degrees. Consistently avoid fabric softener, as it attacks the Elastanei fibres in the straps and neckline and significantly reduces dimensional stability. Turn the Tank topi inside out before washing - this protects print, embroidery and the outer colour. Tumble drying is possible with most models, but not recommended: with Elastane blends, every dryer cycle shortens the life of the straps. Dry flat or on a hanger to preserve the silhouette. On vintage-washed models (BY429, BY436), keep an eye on the colour during the first three washes - the look is deliberately washed out slightly. Iron only inside out and at medium temperature, avoiding print areas completely.
Regular in Unisexi is the pragmatic choice for mixed teams and merch runs with a single Size chart – no debate, no returns from Size misunderstandings. The downside: the straight cut often looks baggy on women, especially in the neckline and at the straps. The women's Fit (slim or fitted) with Elastanei content such as BY208, BY235, HRM210, MY320 or E1051 offers a noticeably more precise Fit and looks tidier – the right choice for reception, retail staff, studio uniforms and all appearances where the Tank topi is visibly important. For women's corporate weari with clear target-group expectations for Fit, the separate women's Size query practically always pays off. Rule of thumb: if the wearer should perceive the Tank top as a garment (not just as merch), then women's Fit; if it's pure giveaway or team signal, Unisex is enough.
Yes – for two reasons. First, many public and municipal buyers have sustainability requirements firmly written into their tenders (Organic Cottoni, OEKO-TEX or similar certificates are frequently mandatory). Second, CSR-oriented corporate customers and streetwear target groups under 30 now expect certifications without needing to be told – their absence is a knock-out criterion. The surcharge for Organic Cotton tank tops over conventional models is usually one to two euros per unit and is quickly recouped via positioning and tender eligibility. Brands like Neutral (NE61300/NE81300 – organic, fair, climate-neutral) and B&C; Inspire (BCTM072/BCTW073 – organic, OEKO-TEX, vegan) are the benchmark for sustainable positioning; Mantis (P82, P127, P133) offers the Sustainable collection with fair production as an affordable entry point for fair-fashion brands and NGO merch.
Bandeau (SF115) has no straps at all and rests only on the upper body – a clearly summery, party-oriented cut that does not work in conservative B2B contexts, but is deliberately usable for summer parties, beach events and women's stage appearances. One-shoulder (SF116) is worn asymmetrically and leaves one shoulder completely free – a fashion statement that works in studios, retail environments with a fashion claim and for event crews with visible presence. Spaghetti straps (HRM209, NM017, BL1012) are the narrowest standard strap variant – considerably more feminine than the racerbacki but less sporty in fit. For women's reception, bar staff and studio uniforms, spaghetti straps are a deliberate choice against the sporty racerback look. Important for all three cuts: the target group must be clear beforehand – these silhouettes are deliberately polarising and not intended as universal merch.
