Explore the rangeWhite, absorbent and name-embroidered - the quiet flagship of your property
Hardly any textile in a hotel is handled more often than the towel – and none delivers such an immediate quality verdict with every touch. When the guest grabs the terry after showering in the morning and the fabric sits dense and heavy in the hand, that is the moment when the star rating is silently decided between 3 and 4. In a four-star house, the 600 g shower towel with an embroidered house brand lies on the edge of the bath, while in a budget hotel the 400 g version without a border is enough – functionally the same, but worlds apart in feel. In the sauna the guest puts on the 80x200 kilt, in the physiotherapy practice the boil-proof treatment towel lies on the couch, in the football club house twelve red towels are stacked after training, and in the holiday flat the set of guest, hand and shower towel is ready for the next arrivals. What connects these applications technically is little: 100% Cottoni, border on request, chlorine-compatible or not, washable at 60 °C or 95 °C. What connects them culturally is everything – the towel is the textile the guest takes away when you do it very well, and the one they complain about when you do it badly. Here we show which fabric weight suits which type of operation, why the border is decisive for embroidery and which filters get you to the right range the fastest.

What the Towel properties really mean
So you can decide with confidence: here we explain the five most important product characteristics of hotel towels in detail - with meaning, sensible applications and concrete buying tips.
Fabric weight (g/m²)
The terry fabric weight per square metre
Describes the weight of the terry goods and determines absorbency, drape and perceived quality. 400 – 500 g/m² is the hotel standard, from 600 g/m² the wellness and spa segment begins, from 700 g/m² the luxury field for five-star houses and exclusive holiday properties begins.
Format & Size
From guest towel to sauna towel
From the 30x30 face cloth to the 100x210 bath sheet, the range covers every kit position in the bathroom, sauna and changing room. As a rule of thumb: guest towel 30x50 for the wash basin, hand towel 50x100 for everyday use, shower towel 70x140 after showering, bath towel 100x150 for full bathing, sauna towel 80x200 for the bench.
Material & Fibre Composition
What the terry cloth is made of
100% Cottoni is the classic – 104 of 150 models in the range are pure cotton. Organic Cottoni for ecologically positioned houses, bamboo-viscose blend for wellness with a soft hand, microfibrei for sport and quick-drying situations. For permanent embroidery borders, many models use 100% Cotton in the field and 100% Polyesteri in the border.
Border & finishing
Where the name Embroidery holds
The border is the narrow, smoothly woven strip at the edge of the towel – the standard place for your establishment's name embroidery. Models with pure cottoni in the field and 100% polyesteri in the border keep embroidery stitching clean even after 200 washes. Without a border, no professional embroidery result.
Certification & Sustainability
How and where it was produced
OEKO-TEX is standard on almost all hotel towels – your guest wears the textile against the skin. GOTS evidences Organic Cottoni, Fairtrade and SA8000i stand for fair working conditions. In tenders from municipalities and public bodies (e.g. hospitals, care homes) sustainability criteria are increasingly mandatory.
Six routes to the right towel series
Whether boutique hotel, sauna area or club changing room – here are the curated combinations of Fabric weight, format and brand that work in the B2B everyday.

600 g/m² terry or bamboo-viscose blend in subtle natural tones – the hand that guests expect in a spa and in a four-star house. Complemented by sauna kilts for the sauna area with HACCP-relevant separation.
Five-star & suite kit
700 g/m² 100% Cotton in classic colours – heavy hand, dense loops, the textile that the guest consciously notices in the suite. Complemented by flannels and bath sheets for the complete five-star kit.

Organic cotton with GOTS certification and a Fair Trade supply chain - for organic hotels, wellness properties positioned on sustainability and public-sector tenders with an 'organic' or 'Fairtrade' award criterion.
Gym & sports club
400 g/m² cotton or microfibre in a strong club colour – small and light for the gym bag, quick-drying after training, strong enough for colour recognition. Format 50x100 as the sport standard.

The six hotel towel brands for your establishment
For the right towel range, brand and operating profile must fit together: ARTG as the broadest range champion, Vossen as the Austrian wellness brand, Towel City as British-practical, The One Towelling® as the Dutch organic focus, SOL'S as French versatility and Daiber as the German basic brand.
ARTG
The broadest towel family in the range with 46 models – from the basic cotton series (AR032 – AR038) through the Hamamzz® family for oriental wellness areas (AR051 – AR057, AR160, AR161) and the PRINT-Me® and SUBLI-Me® families for individual border printing (AR070 – AR087) to the Organic Cotton and organic bamboo line (AR403 – AR406, AR503 – AR505) and the Excellent Deluxe series with 700 g/m² premium terry (AR601 – AR606). The brand anchor for establishments that want to kit out all positions from a single family.
Vossen
Austrian heritage brand with a focus on wellness, spa and hotel terry in premium quality. Vossen provides the hand-feel reference for four- and five-star properties: dense loop structure, clean workmanship on border and hem, colour depth even after many industrial washes. The brand for properties that want to underline their wellness positioning with visibly premium textiles - the guest reaches for the Towel and immediately feels the difference in quality compared to the standard terry.
Towel City
British brand focused on pragmatic towel ranges for hotel, fitness and sports clubhouse use. A clearly structured range without fashion experiments, focused on colour stability and industrial-wash-ready everyday performance. The choice for operations that need reliable goods at B2B terms and don't depend on premium looks - clubhouse, gym, mid-tier holiday property.
The One Towelling®
Dutch brand with a strong sustainability agenda – Organic Cotton series, Fair Trade supply chain and OEKO-TEX certification. The One Towelling® is the choice for eco-hotels, wellness properties with an eco-positioning and municipal tenders with robust certificates. The brand that sees sustainability not as a label but as a product core.
SOL'S
French manufacturer with a focus on versatility – from the Island terry family (L890 – L892, L903) through the Bayside series (L897 – L899) to the Atoll microfibre sports towel (L02936). Focus on basic cotton terry in classic colours, German distribution structure with short lead times and reliable restocking. The choice for businesses that deliberately select German brand origin and want to cover standard requirements without fashion experiments.

Which fabric, which cut?
Not every material and not every cut suits every project. Here you will find the right combination.
100% Cotton
With 104 of 150 models the absolutely dominant material choice in the hotel-towel range – for good reason: pure Cottoni delivers maximum absorbency, warm feel, high colour depth and optimal printability on the border. Typical Fabric weights from 400 g/m² standard to 700 g/m² luxury, all industrial-washable at 60–95 °C and shape-retaining over 200 washes. The safe choice for 80% of all hotel, wellness, club and holiday-property fit-outs.
Organic Cotton & Fair Trade
Organic Cottoni models for sustainably positioned houses, often supplemented by Fair-Trade certificates and OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100. Top suppliers are the ARTG Organic Cotton and organic bamboo lines (AR403 – AR406, AR503 – AR505), the Fair Towel family (FT100BN, FT100DN, FT100HN) and Myrtle beach Organic Cotton ranges (MB440 – MB442). The hand remains identical to the conventional standard – you trade eco-balance and story value for a moderate price premium of 20 – 40%.
Microfibre & poly blends
Microfibrei (90% Polyesteri / 10% polyamidei), 90% Cottoni / 10% Polyester and poly-blend variants dry much faster than pure Cotton – the right choice for gyms, sports clubs and physio practices with high wash frequency. The SOL'S microfibre towel Atoll (L02936) is the reference for compact, gym-bag-friendly quick-drying sports towels; for embroiderable border series many models use 100% Cotton in the field and 100% Polyester in the border – the pragmatic compromise between absorbency and embroidery-seam durability.
Industrial laundry 60–95 °C
Pure Cottoni terries are cleared for 60–95 °C industrial laundering and form the backbone of every hotel and clinic laundry. Rule of thumb: 60 °C for standard coloured bath towels, 95 °C for white sauna and clinic textiles with hygiene requirements. Bamboo-viscose blends and microfibrei, by contrast, at 40–60 °C – the synthetic fibres become brittle at 95 °C. Important for longevity: consistently avoid fabric softener (it reduces absorbency), and instead use a water-softener programme where the water is calcareous.

All about Hotel towels
For gyms, yoga studios and sports clubs with high wash frequency, 350–400 g/m² is ideal – dries faster in the drum, is not too heavy in the backpack and cuts washing costs per cycle. The standard for three- and four-star hotels, holiday flats and guest houses lies at 400–500 g/m² – solid absorbency, economical in industrial laundry and shape-stable over years. For wellness hotels, spa areas and boutique houses we recommend 500–600 g/m² – dense feel, visibly higher-quality look, withstands 60 °C washing over 200 cycles. From 700 g/m² upwards begins the luxury range for five-star houses, suites and premium holiday properties – heavy feel, rich haptics, the textile the guest consciously perceives as a 'good house'.
The classic four-piece hotel room kit consists of a face cloth (15x21 or 30x30 cm) for cleansing, a guest towel (30x50 cm) at the basin, a hand towel (50x100 cm) for everyday use and a shower towel (70x140 cm) for after showering. In upmarket establishments, bath sheets (100x150 cm) are added and, for wellness/sauna areas, sauna kilts (80x200 cm) with hook-and-loop fastening. Per guest we plan two sets per stay with daily change; for multiple nights without change request, one set per guest plus 20% circulation reserve for the laundry is sufficient. Uniform range selection is important – colour, border look and fabric weight should be identical per room category.
The standard place for a name embroidery is the border on the short edge of the towel - the narrow, smoothly woven strip that holds the embroidery stitching permanently. Models with pure cottoni in the field and 100% polyesteri in the border (e.g. AR074, AR080-AR087 from the ARTG-SUBLI-Me® family) deliver the cleanest embroidery result even after 200 washes. For single-colour house brands we recommend embroidery (surcharge per unit, durable and high-end); for multi-colour motifs and small runs, sublimation printingi on the polyester border (SUBLI-Me® series). The terry field itself is only embroidered in exceptional cases - the loops make a clean stitch pattern difficult, and the seam is less durable on terry than on the border. For club towels with crest or name: budget 5-10% reserve per order so you can serve replacements and new members.
Pure 100% Cottoni terries tolerate 60–95 °C industrial laundering and are designed for continuous use in hotel laundries – they should survive at least 200 wash cycles cleanly, on premium series (600+ g/m²) over 300 cycles. Bamboo-viscose blends (55% Cotton / 45% viscosei) and Organic Cottoni, by contrast, we wash at 60 °C, not at 95 °C – the viscose fibres become brittle at excessively high temperatures. Microfibrei towels for sport and fitness are best kept at 40–60 °C. For chlorine-resistant use (swimming pool, public wellness pool) specifically filter for models with chlorine resistance; not every Cotton tolerates the chlorine residuals from the wash reservoir. Important for longevity: no fabric softener – it coats the fibre and reduces absorbency measurably. Instead, use a water-softener programme where the water is calcareous.
White is the hotel standard with a market share of around 75% in the range - neutral, professional, suitable for all room categories and easy to maintain in bleach washing. Beige, sand and muted natural shades suit wellness and spa areas with a natural-wellness positioning. Strong colours (red, blue, green, turquoise) are the choice for clubs (club colour), sports studios (corporate colour) and family holiday properties, where the colour distinguishes between 'children's Towel' and 'adult Towel'. Anthracite and black are the signal for modern boutique hotels and design properties that consciously set themselves apart from classic white. Important for operations: strong colours only with separation in the laundry (do not wash mixed with white) - without this precaution the colour fades and the white wash cycle turns grey.
For organic hotels, wellness houses and holiday properties with sustainability positioning: yes, definitely – the surcharge (typically 20–40% over standard cottoni) is quickly recouped through review portals and the CSR report. For conventional three- and four-star hotels without special positioning: rather not – the organic story does not reach the standard guest, and absorbency is identical. For municipal tenders (swimming pool, sports hall, publicly funded club house): organic cottoni and Fairtrade are increasingly must-have criteria – check the tender documents carefully, one or more certificates are often explicitly required. The difference in feel between organic and conventional is no longer noticeable with modern terry ranges; what matters is the certification chain on the inner label and in the data sheet.
Rule of thumb for stock planning: per bed, two complete towel sets in the room, plus three more in circulation reserve for laundry cycle, repairs and seasonal peaks – so five sets per bed in total. A set comprises, depending on establishment category, two to four textiles (face cloth, guest towel, hand towel and shower towel). For a 30-room hotel with double occupancy, that means around 300 towel sets in stock. With daily change and long stays we plan six sets per bed, with an environmental programme with change on request only, four. For gyms and sports clubs a different calculation applies: one towel per member use, plus 30% reserve for drying and circulation time. Important: budget 5–10% replacement reserve for damage and loss annually in the order.
Face cloths (15x21 or 30x30 cm) belong in every four- and five-star room and in every organic/wellness hotel - guests expect them and use them for make-up removal or facial cleansing. In three-star properties and holiday flats they are optional. Sauna kilts with Velcro closure (80x200 cm) are essential for every wellness hotel with a sauna area, every public wellness bath and every fitness chain with a sauna offer - a clear HACCP-relevant separation between room and sauna textiles, and the kilt stays on the body. Hammam Towels (light, thinner patterned Cottoni Towels) are a speciality for Turkish-bath areas and wellness properties with an oriental positioning - not a replacement for classic terry, but a complementary experience component. Sports Towels (30x140 cm, elongated format) are the standard for the gym - large enough for the fitness machine, small enough for the gym bag.
