Blank textiles (also "blanks") are undecorated and unembroidered standard garments that serve as the base for the decoration industry. They are produced in large volumes and wide colour palettes by specialised basics manufacturers - the best-known brands are B&C, Fruit of the Loom, Stedman, Gildan, Sol's, James & Nicholson, Hakro, Kariban and Continental Clothing.
Characteristic is the catalogue structure: each style (e.g. "Sol's Regent 150g T-shirt") typically comes in 20 - 50 colours and sizes XS to 4XL/5XL, available from stock. Standard items are T-shirts, polos, hoodies, sweatshirts, softshell jackets, jerseys, caps, beanies, backpacks and cotton bags. Trade runs in three tiers: manufacturer -> wholesaler (e.g. Textil-Wagner, Cotton Classics, L-Shop-Team) -> decorators and resellers.
