Description
RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS by OEKO-TEX® is the latest addition to the OEKO-TEX® family (introduced 2022) and supports textile and leather companies in implementing their human-rights and environmental due-diligence obligations. It does not target individual factories (that is STeP) or products (STANDARD 100, MADE IN GREEN), but the corporate management of brands, retailers and trading companies.
The scheme is aligned with the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the German Supply Chain Act (LkSG) as well as the EU CSDDD. Six management processes are assessed: policy statement, risk analysis, prevention and remediation, grievance mechanisms, reporting and continuous improvement. RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS is thus a key compliance building block for companies subject to LkSG or the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive.
