Description
Cropped fit is a deliberately short cut that ends above the hip or at the waist. Cropped shirts, cropped hoodies and cropped pullovers typically show a strip of midriff or end just at the navel. The cut is usually straight or slightly A-shaped and can be body-hugging or oversized.
The look entered the mainstream with 1980s aerobic fashion and today is widespread in streetwear, sportswear and festival fashion. A stable hem is important for a clean cropped look – often executed as rib band, raw edge or rolled hem. Cropped fits are mainly, but not exclusively, used in women's wear.
