Dolman sleeve

Very wide sleeve that starts down at the hip and tapers narrow toward the wrist.
Description
The dolman or batwing sleeve is a very wide sleeve whose armhole reaches almost to the waist and which tapers narrow toward the wrist. When the arm is outstretched, the arm and torso form a large triangular surface reminiscent of a bat's wing.
The name dolman comes from the Turkish military coat of the same name, whose sweeping sleeves inspired the cut. Dolman sleeves were particularly popular in the 1940s and 1980s and have periodically returned to fashion vocabulary since. They work only with soft, flowing fabrics and look oversized and dramatic.
