Cut with the shoulder seam dropped down onto the upper arm for a relaxed, oversized look.
Description
With the drop shoulder the shoulder seam is set clearly below the actual shoulder edge, often 3 to 10 cm onto the upper arm. This makes the shoulder area broader and looser, the sleeve sits deliberately relaxed and the entire cut looks relaxed to oversized.
The drop shoulder cut is typical of streetwear hoodies, oversized sweatshirts, loose T-shirts and casual blouses. Structurally it requires a wide front and back piece and a shorter sleeve cap, because the sleeve is no longer set above the shoulder point. The look is gender neutral and works especially well in heavier qualities such as sweat or French terry.
