Description
The longline cut denotes a clearly elongated garment silhouette — shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts or lightweight jackets whose hem extends well below the hips, often to mid-thigh. Unlike a regular fit, the longline cut modifies only the length while shoulder width and body width usually remain normal — the piece looks casual but not necessarily oversized.
Longline gained popularity through the streetwear and hip-hop scene of the early 2010s (Kanye West „YEEZUS" era, brands like Off-White, Fear of God, Represent). It is often combined with a curved hem, split-hem construction or visible side zippers. Paired with high-rise trousers the look is ideal because the long hem visually elongates the upper body versus the leg.
