Muscle-tank fit

Muscle-tank fit is the characteristic silhouette of gym and bodybuilding culture: a tank top with clearly dropped armholes (typically 25–35 cm vertical vs. 18–22 cm on a standard tank), narrow shoulder straps (2.5–4 cm) and often a shortened side seam. Purpose of the cut: the trained chest, deltoid and trapezius muscles are freely visible, while the deep armhole allows maximum range of motion for strength training.

Characteristic variants: the stringer (extremely narrow spaghetti straps, very deep armhole), the Y-back (back cut in a Y shape, more back exposure) and the racerback (straps meeting at the spine centre). Materials are typically heavy cotton (180–220 g/m2) or cotton-modal blends with a light rib structure for visual contour. Classic brands: Gymshark, Alphalete, Ryderwear. For B2B corporate the fit is relevant for gym merchandise, CrossFit boxes, bodybuilding contest merch, streetwear collections with gym aesthetics.
