Regular fit
Also known as: Normal fit
Classic, balanced fit with moderate width – standard silhouette.
Description
Regular fit is the classic, balanced fit tailored to average body proportions and neither particularly tight nor particularly loose. It is regarded as the standard silhouette of confection and suits a broad target group. Chest-waist drop typically ranges from 8 to 12 cm.
Structurally the regular fit uses moderate widths at chest, waist and hips, straight side seams without strong darts and normal sleeve widths. The back is often designed with one or two small pleats (side pleats) or without pleats. The collar sits at normal height, the cuffs are standard width.
Regular fit is the safest choice for business shirts when the exact fit is unknown. It accommodates different belly circumferences, offers sufficient freedom of movement and looks neither too tight nor too loose. On jackets, suits, trousers and T-shirts, regular fit is also the standard class.
Compared to slim fit regular is perceptibly more comfortable, compared to comfort or loose fit it is clearly slimmer. It is the timeless choice for workwear, classic leisurewear and all wearer types who want neither body-hugging nor overly loose silhouettes.
