Shark collar
Also known as: Shark collar, Wide-spread collar
Shirt collar with a very wide spread angle for full tie knots.
Description
The shark collar, also called wide-spread collar, has a spread angle of about 120 to 180 degrees. The collar points fan out to the sides, leaving generous space between them for a full tie knot. It is the preferred collar for the full Windsor knot and is often used in upscale business and formal wear.
Structurally the shark collar resembles the cutaway but is usually a little shorter in point length and more compact at the band. The interlining is stiff to keep the widely angled points stable. Collar stays are standard.
- Spread angle: 120 to 180 degrees
- Ideal for the full Windsor or double knot
