Foil print
Also known as: Metallic foil print, Hot foil stamping textile
Metallic-glossy textile finishing — an adhesive layer is printed and metallic foil is heat-bonded on top.
Description
For foil print a special adhesive paste is first applied as the motif by screen or digital print and then dried. A metallic foil (gold, silver, copper, holographic) is then transferred onto the adhesive area with a heat press at 140-160 °C for 8-15 seconds; excess foil is peeled off after cooling.
The result is a high-gloss, metallic-shimmering print with a mirror-like surface, particularly suitable for fashion basics, sports and party wear. It is wash-stable up to 30-40 °C inside-out but does not tolerate front-side ironing or the tumble dryer. Foil print has limited performance on strongly textured fabrics and fleece.
- Two-step: adhesive print + foil transfer
- Metallic, holographic, chrome and matte foils available
- Wash inside-out at 30-40 °C only, no tumble drying
- Not ideal for fleece or strongly textured goods
