Description
The HD (heavy duty) suffix on 600D polyester denotes an industrial reinforcement step, typically 330-400 g/m2 with a thicker or two-sided PU coating. Hydrostatic head rises to 5000-8000 mm per EN ISO 811, and Martindale abrasion can reach 40,000-60,000 cycles per ISO 12947. The hand is noticeably stiffer and tougher, ideal for site bags, tool cases, driver duffels and rain covers. In workwear it reinforces bottoms and elbows; as a base fabric for EN ISO 20471 hi-vis only with proper fluorescent overlay. HD costs slightly more than standard 600D but offers much longer service life in wet and abrasive settings.
