EN 13034 Type 6

Standard for limited-performance chemical protective clothing type 6 / PB[6] against liquid aerosols and light splashes.
Description
EN 13034:2005+A1:2009 (type 6) covers chemical protective clothing with limited performance against liquid chemicals. Type 6 is the lowest protection level in the EN 14605/13034/13982/14126 hierarchy and covers situations with small amounts of liquid chemicals, light splashes or aerosols with no pressure build-up (typical maintenance, cleaning or lab tasks). Core test is the spray test per EN ISO 17491-4 procedure A, where three suits must pass with no penetration. Five textile-physical parameters are also tested: tear, tensile, burst, puncture and abrasion. As PB[6] variant it only covers parts of the body (e.g. apron). PPE category III; conformity assessment requires EU type examination and ongoing surveillance by a notified body. Not protection against extended chemical exposure or pressurised streams.
