EN ISO 11612

Standard for clothing against heat and flame with codes A, B, C, D, E and F per heat source.
Description
EN ISO 11612 is the central standard for clothing in work environments with heat and flame exposure such as metal processing, foundries and industrial firefighting (proper firefighting uses EN 469). It always combines code A for limited flame spread, tested per ISO 15025 as A1 (surface ignition) or A2 (edge ignition), with at least one further heat code: B convective heat (ISO 9151), C radiant heat (ISO 6942), D molten aluminium splash (ISO 9185), E molten iron splash (ISO 9185) and F contact heat (ISO 12127-1). Each letter is followed by a performance level number. A1 B1 C1 E2 F1 describes typical metal-work basic clothing. It is PPE category III, requires EU type examination and ongoing surveillance by a notified body. Current version: EN ISO 11612:2015.
