Tie-Fix
Also known as: tie clip, tie holder
Metal or plastic clip that fixes the tie behind the shirt or on the front placket.
Description
In workwear, Tie-Fix usually refers to a safety tie holder that clips the tie to the shirt placket and releases at a defined tear point when pulled. This break-away function matters for security, reception, service and workshops where a fixed tie could become a choking hazard. Classic tie bars are purely decorative and keep the tie flat. Constructions include clip, spring-clip and magnetic types. Typical release loads are 15-30 N; above that the tie detaches. Combined with clip-on ties this offers double safety. Purely decorative use is unregulated, while safety use may be mandated by company rules.
