Description
High-loft fleece is a family of extra-voluminous polyester knit fleeces whose long, standing fibre loops create vertical air pockets. The trapped air insulates like a down duvet — that is why high-loft fleece delivers the best warmth-to-weight ratio in the Polartec fleece range and still packs down small.
Typical uses are mid-layers for mountaineering and winter jacket linings: loosely knitted, highly breathable, quick-drying, ideal for high-output cold-weather activity. Competing products include Marmot Radiator, Rab Nebula, Patagonia R-Series. Also popular: the 100 % recycled version Polartec High Loft Recycled based on rPET.
