Interlock Jacquard
Also known as: Jacquard interlock, double-knit jacquard
Double-face interlock knit with a jacquard pattern knitted directly into the structure — dense, dimensionally stable and with a needle-by-needle coloured motif, ideal for high-end polos, jerseys and childrenswear.
Description
Interlock jacquard combines the stable, smooth double-face structure of interlock knit with the pattern versatility of a jacquard mechanism. In an interlock, two rib knits are interlocked needle against needle, producing a fabric that looks the same smooth way on both sides, does not curl and remains dimensionally stable.
When the circular knitting machine is fitted with jacquard control, any multicolour pattern can be knitted needle by needle. Unlike a printed motif, the colours are part of the binding itself — the pattern is visible from the back, very abrasion resistant and barely creases. Typical uses are corporate polos with a logo repeat, sports jerseys, baby and kids shirts and jacket linings.
- Typical weight 200–320 g/m² — heavier than single jersey
- Dimensionally stable, no curl, very colour-fast
- Pattern is knitted into the structure — no print, cannot peel off
- Higher yarn consumption than plain interlock — more expensive but very durable
