Milano rib
Also known as: Milano rib, Full Milano stitch
Double-face rib knit on a circular machine — smooth face with fine horizontal rib lines, very shape-stable.
Description
Milano rib is a double-face knit produced on a circular machine by alternating rib rows with a connecting tuck row. The result is a dense, shape-stable fabric with a smooth face and back and a characteristic fine horizontal rib.
It is widely used for women's blazers, sheath dresses, jersey trousers, skirts and premium cardigans. Milano rib is much heavier and more opaque than single jersey (typically 280–380 g/m²), hardly wrinkles and keeps its shape wash after wash. Common compositions: viscose/polyester/elastane blends for apparel or pure wool for knit blazers.
