Terry loop knit

Circular knit with uncut cotton loops on one face, absorbent and soft.
Description
Terry loop knit is a knitted terry quality in which cotton yarn loops sit uncut on one face of the base fabric. Unlike woven terry, terry loop knit is produced on circular machines (interlock or three-thread construction) and is therefore stretchy. The loop yarn lies between two ground stitches, creating an even loop pattern of roughly 1.5-3 mm.
Typical weights range from 280 to 420 g/m² with a cotton share of 80-100% plus 5-10% polyester for shape retention. The structure is markedly more absorbent than single jersey or French terry, yet lighter than woven terry. Drying time and washing behaviour lie between the two.
Uses: kids' bathrobes, sport hand-towel tees, loungewear, baby and toddler ponchos. Terry loop is also used as inner lining for hoods and collars because it wicks moisture away from the body. Care: 40 °C, no ironing, low tumble; fabric softener permanently reduces absorbency.
