Coreloft (Arc'teryx)
Also known as: Coreloft 60, Coreloft 100
Synthetic staple-fibre insulation by Arc'teryx; compressible and named by fabric weight.
Description
Coreloft is Canadian brand Arc'teryx's in-house polyester staple-fibre insulation. Built from siliconised, crimped staple fibres of different deniers – fine fibres create many air pockets, coarser carrier fibres keep the loft.
Named by fabric weight: Coreloft 40 (light summer hoody), Coreloft 60/80 (transition), Coreloft 100/120 (winter). Advantages over down: still warm when wet, cheaper, animal-free, machine-washable. Used in the Atom, Proton and Cerium lines. Coreloft Continuous is a continuous-filament variant with less shedding and better shape retention.
