Description
Entrant is a waterproof PU composite by Toray, introduced in the late 1970s and today mostly used in value-oriented rain and ski clothing lines. The construction is either a microporous PU coating (Entrant HB) or a hybrid hydrophilic-microporous membrane (Entrant G-XT), laminated to a carrier fabric or directly coated.
Typical figures are a hydrostatic head of 10,000-20,000 mm and MVTR of 5,000-10,000 g/m²/24h — well below premium membranes such as Gore-Tex Pro or Dermizax NX, but at a fraction of the cost. Entrant is often found in weather-protection jackets, rain suits, entry-level ski jackets and workwear for construction and agriculture.
