Branded membrane with 5,000 mm water column and about 5,000 g/m<sup>2</sup>/24h breathability.
Description
Isotex 5000® is a commercial PU/PES-based functional membrane in the mid-performance segment. The number 5000 refers to the specified water column of at least 5,000 mm per EN 20811 / ISO 811 and to the water vapour permeability of about 5,000 g/m2/24h per JIS L 1099.
Applications: mid-market ski, rain and trekking jackets (typical retail 80-200 EUR). System: 2-layer or 2.5-layer laminate, often with printed inner instead of mesh lining. RET typically 12-15 m2Pa/W per ISO 11092, corresponding to the Hohenstein "breathable" class.
Ageing: as with all PU-based membranes, hydrolysis is the main risk; lifespan 5-8 years with proper care. DWR is PFC-free; regular re-proofing needed. Isotex® membranes often appear as private-label solutions at ski brands and specialist retailers.
