Polartec NeoShell
Also known as: NeoShell
Air-permeable soft-shell membrane by Polartec – waterproof at very high breathability.
Description
Polartec NeoShell is a sub-microporous polyurethane membrane introduced in 2010 with nano-scale pores. Unlike classic hardshells it lets a small amount of air through (0.5–5 cfm), which reduces heat build-up under high output.
Water column > 10,000 mm (AATCC 127), RET < 7. Usually built as a 3-layer soft-shell with a knit face – soft hand, high stretch. Used by Marmot, Rab, Rossignol. Measured breathability is roughly twice that of classic hardshell membranes at similar water columns.
