Description

The bar tack is a dense zig-zag stitch pattern of 5–20 mm length that secures loaded seam ends. Typical applications are belt-loop ends, pocket corners, zipper starts/ends, drawcord edges and V-neck notches. Bar-tack machines (Juki LK-1900, Brother KE-430) set 28, 42 or 84 stitches per tack.

Polyester continuous-filament yarns (T-40 to T-80) are used; strength reaches 200–300 N per tack. Sample products at Clubmartin: cargo trousers with tacks on leg pockets, chinos with belt-loop tacks, trekking shirt with tacks at chest pockets.
