Crescent seam

Arc-shaped decorative and reinforcement seam on denim seats or shirt backs.
Description
The crescent seam is an arc-shaped topstitched line found mainly as a decorative and reinforcement seam on jeans back pockets (Levi's Arcuate stitching), shirt yoke backs and western shirts. Usually done as a double seam with 6 mm needle gauge, 4 stitches per cm, contrasting polyester upper thread (T-40) and matching bobbin.
Mechanically it reinforces the back trouser panel in a high-load seat zone; visually it works as a brand signature. Strength 150–200 N/cm. Sample products at Clubmartin: slim-fit jeans, western denim, country shirt. Machines: PFAFF 1246 with seam guide, Juki LH-3568.
