Description
Princess seams (also called Vienna seams) are vertical curved lockstitched seams running from the shoulder blade or armhole across the bust to the hem. They replace the bust dart and shape the waist without leaving fabric excess. Sewn as class-301 lockstitch with 4–5 stitches per cm, upper and bobbin thread Nm 120/2 polyester-core.
Princess seams are core silhouette elements of blazers, ladies' blouses, shirtdresses, chemisiers and suits. Sample products at Clubmartin: business blouse with princess seam, cotton chemisier, blazer. Strength 90–140 N/cm, pressed open with a ham and adjusted in 5 mm steps during fittings.
