Ready-to-wear construction seam

Umbrella term for machine-sewn production seams optimised for fast, uniform and durable manufacturing.
Description
In the textile industry, construction seams are all standardised machine seams used in bulk garment manufacturing. They follow seam classes per ISO 4916 (e.g. SSa-1 simple joining seam, LSc-2 flat-felled, EFc-1 double-hem coverstitch) and are usually executed as lockstitch (301), overlock (504/514/516), chain stitch (401) or coverstitch (406).
The combination is fixed per garment in the sewing route sheet: a T-shirt line typically uses 4-thread overlock (sides, shoulders), coverstitch (hem, sleeves), lockstitch (label), bar tacks (stress points). Goals: short takt time, consistent quality, compliance with requirements like DIN EN ISO 13935 (seam strength).
