Rolled hem

The rolled hem is a fine hem 1–3 mm wide in which the fabric edge is folded twice through a rolling guide and secured by lockstitch (class 301) or overlock (class 503). On chiffon, voile and thin cotton batiste blouses it prevents the hem bar from showing through.

Stitch density 5–7 per cm, needle size Nm 60–70, fine polyester core Nm 150/2. Sample products at Clubmartin: chiffon blouse, summer dress, cotton scarf. On overlock rolled-hem machines (Juki MO-6816S), textured looper yarn creates the dense picot effect classic for silk scarves.
