Satin stitch

Dense, glossy embroidery stitch in which parallel threads form a smooth surface – standard for lettering and logos.
Description
The satin stitch lays parallel stitches tightly side by side, covering an entire area with a smooth, glossy thread layer. Typical density 4–7 stitches/mm, stitch length 1–8 mm. On multi-head machines an underlay stitch is usually laid down first for stability.
Standard for logo embroidery on polo shirts, caps, bathrobes and corporate fleece jackets. Sewn on embroidery machines (Tajima, Barudan, ZSK) with polyester or viscose embroidery thread (Madeira Classic 40, Robison-Anton). Below 5 mm letter height, shorter stitches are used to avoid puckering.
