Twin-needle stitch

Two parallel lockstitches sharing one bobbin – standard for T-shirt hems and coverstitch look.
Description
The twin-needle stitch is produced on a twin-needle lockstitch or coverstitch machine (class 406/407). Two needle threads from above meet a shared looper or bobbin thread that forms a zig-zag loop on the reverse. The result is two parallel decorative rows 3–6 mm apart.
The seam is elastic (up to 40 %), strong (60–90 N/cm) and used on T-shirt hems, sleeve cuffs, crew-neck facings and sweat-fabric ribbing. Sample products at Clubmartin: merino T-shirt, organic sweat, longsleeve. Stitch density 4–5 per cm, machines like Kansai Special WX-8803 or Pegasus W664.
