Description
YKK® zippers come from the Japanese manufacturer YKK Group (Yoshida Kōgyō Kabushiki-gaisha), founded in 1934, which with a world market share of about 45 % is the largest zipper maker. Typical ranges are YKK Vislon® (plastic tooth), YKK Excella® (polished metal tooth), YKK Aquaguard® (water-resistant coated) and YKK Coil (plastic spiral) in sizes 3, 5, 8 and 10.
Zippers are inserted with lockstitch 301, 4 stitches per cm and polyester T-40; both ends are secured with bar tacks. Strength ranges from 30 to 120 kg pull depending on size. Sample products at Clubmartin: softshell with YKK Aquaguard, trekking pants YKK Vislon, 5-pocket denim with YKK Excella. Marked on the reverse of the slider (YKK embossing).
