Additional shoulder or back panel for shaping – on shirts usually double-layered.
Description
The yoke (German Passe) is a horizontally cut panel on the shoulder or back that serves several functions: it transfers neck and shoulder shaping, hides the fibre reversal of the fabric and provides room for small back pleats (action pleats). On classic shirts the yoke is double-layered (inner and outer yoke), hiding all seams cleanly on the inside.
Sewn with lockstitch class 301 in a 6 mm double seam; upper and bobbin thread Nm 120/2 cotton-poly. Strength 100–160 N/cm. Sample products at Clubmartin: business slim-fit shirt, country shirt with saddle yoke, blouse with embroidered yoke.
