Amni Soul Eco®
Also known as: Biodegradable polyamide, Solvay/Rhodia Amni
Polyamide 6.6 fibre by Brazilian producer Rhodia Solvay that biodegrades on landfills within a few years.
Description
Amni Soul Eco® is a polyamide 6.6 fibre by Rhodia (now Solvay/Syensqo) with production in Brazil. The fibre contains a special additive complex that enables microorganisms to degrade the polymer in the anaerobic environment of a landfill.
According to ASTM D5511 tests, the fibre degrades to biogas and biomass in a typical landfill in about 3–5 years — instead of more than 100 years for classic PA 6.6. Applications: lingerie, swimwear, sportswear and corporate wear of leading South American brands. Amni Soul Eco® is chemically and mechanically identical to standard PA 6.6 and needs no special processing.
