Cordura®
Also known as: Cordura nylon, 500D / 1000D Cordura®
Robust branded polyamide fabric for backpacks, workwear and motorcycle apparel, extremely abrasion and tear resistant.
Description
Cordura® is a registered trademark of the Cordura Brand (owned by INVISTA) for highly abrasion-resistant fabrics based on polyamide yarns (nylon 6.6 or nylon 6). Fabric weight is given in denier — typical weights range from 100D for light backpack shells to 1000D for heavy workwear and military fabrics.
Cordura® fabrics are up to ten times more abrasion resistant than classic cotton fabrics, extremely tear resistant and can additionally be finished with DWR. They are used in trekking backpacks, work trousers, motorcycle jackets, shoes, tent floors and military and duty equipment.
