Description

Cotton blend refers to fabrics in which cotton is combined with one or more chemical fibres — mostly polyester (polycotton), but also polyamide, modal, lyocell, viscose or elastane. Typical blend ratios are 50/50, 65/35 (PES/CO) or 60/40 CO/PES.

Such blends combine the advantages of both fibre worlds: the softness, breathability and moisture absorption of cotton with the tear strength, dimensional stability and quick drying of polyester. Cotton blends are standard in uniforms, workwear, polo shirts, sweatshirts and shirts.

  • Cotton + chemical fibre (mainly polyester)
  • Soft, easy care and dimensionally stable
  • Less creasing than pure cotton
  • Higher durability than 100 % cotton in industrial laundry

An elastane share (typically 2–5 %) improves the fit. Recycled variants combine organic cotton with rPET for ecologically more favourable blends.
