DuPont™ Sorona®

Partly bio-based polytrimethylene terephthalate (PTT) fibre with inherent stretch and softness.
Description
DuPont™ Sorona® is a chemical fibre based on polytrimethylene terephthalate (PTT), obtained to about 37 % from renewable raw materials — in particular plant-fermented 1,3-propanediol from corn. It has been produced by DuPont™ (today Covation Biomaterials) since 2000.
The fibre combines several properties that would normally require blends: inherent stretch without elastane, soft hand, deep colours, good stain resistance and quick drying. It is often labelled with the bio-PDO share or under specific sub-brands (Sorona® Aura, Sorona® Cardura).
