MicroModal®
Also known as: Modal microfibre, Lenzing MicroModal
Very fine modal fibre (<1 dtex) from Lenzing™ with exceptionally soft, silky hand — reference for premium lingerie.
Description
MicroModal® is the microfibre variant of Lenzing's modal fibre. Modal is a high-wet-modulus (HWM) regenerated cellulose from beech wood. MicroModal filaments have a fineness below 1 dtex and produce an exceptionally smooth, skin-friendly surface.
Unlike classic viscose, modal remains much more dimensionally stable when wet and is only slightly less tenacious. MicroModal® is often knitted with cotton or elastane and is a standard raw material for premium men's underwear (Calvin Klein, Hugo Boss, Speidel). The fibre shrinks less than cotton, is odour-neutral and uses about 50 % less water in production.
