Lenzing™ lyocell fibre containing a share of post-consumer cotton recyclate — closed-loop cellulose cycle.
Description
REFIBRA™ is a branded technology from the Austrian fibre producer Lenzing AG. It combines lyocell pulp from PEFC/FSC-certified wood with a share of post-consumer and pre-consumer cotton waste (currently up to 30 %). The material is spun by the classic lyocell process with the solvent NMMO in a closed loop into filament or staple fibre.
REFIBRA™ is branded as a TENCEL™ lyocell fibre and made transparently traceable via Lenzing's blockchain fibre identification system (Fibre Coin). Applications: denim, T-shirts, sweatshirts and blouses of leading sustainable brands. The fibre is soft, moisture-regulating and biodegradable.
