Description

REPREVE® is the recyclate brand of US yarn producer UNIFI (North Carolina, since 2007). Feedstocks are used PET bottles, fishing nets and textile waste, converted into rPET chips and then spun into filament yarns. The REPREVE® brand today covers both polyester and polyamide.

UNIFI has developed FiberPrint®, a forensic tracer system that allows the recyclate share to be verified in the finished textile. Additional lines like REPREVE® Our Ocean use ocean-bound plastic waste. According to UNIFI, REPREVE® has saved about 1.32 billion kg of CO₂ so far. Applications: sports and fashion apparel of major brands (Nike, Adidas, Ford interiors, Volcom).
