Description
SeaCell™ is a branded lyocell fibre by the German producer smartfiber AG (Thuringia). During fibre production, dried and milled brown algae (including knotted wrack, sustainably harvested in the North Atlantic) are embedded in the cellulose matrix — the algae share is around 19 %.
The fibre is spun in the closed-loop NMMO lyocell process and is thus chemically related to TENCEL™ lyocell. Brown algae contain minerals, antioxidants and vitamins, partially activated by the skin's natural moisture. Applications: underwear, loungewear, sportswear, home textiles. SeaCell™ is EU Ecolabel and OK Compost certified.
