Lenzing lyocell fibre containing a defined share of recycled cotton waste from garment cutting scraps.
Description
Lenzing's REFIBRA technology processes cotton cutting scraps (pre-consumer waste) together with wood pulp through the NMMO closed-loop solvent process to make a new TENCEL lyocell fibre. Current recycled share is around 30 % per fibre; Lenzing is scaling towards post-consumer content from used textiles.
The finished fibre has the same fineness, wet strength and soft hand as classic TENCEL Lyocell and runs on cotton and wool spinning systems. It is traceable via blockchain-based tracing and typically carries USDA BioPreferred and EU Ecolabel conformity.
