Description
Tencel® is the umbrella brand of the Austrian chemical fibre manufacturer Lenzing AG for high-quality lyocell and modal fibres. The portfolio includes Tencel® Lyocell (from eucalyptus), Tencel® Modal (from beech wood) and sub-lines such as Tencel® x Refibra™, which additionally uses recycled cotton scraps.
Chemically it is regenerated cellulose, produced in a closed solvent loop with NMMO. The process is certified as particularly resource-friendly (e.g. EU Ecolabel, USDA BioPreferred). Tencel® fibres are soft, smooth, breathable, skin-friendly and biodegradable.
