Semi-combed cotton

Semi-combed cotton undergoes only a shortened combing step after carding, so some short fibres are removed but fewer than in full combing. The result is a yarn finer and more even than carded cotton, though not quite matching combed quality.

For many mid-priced applications, semi-combed is the optimal choice: T-shirts, entry-level polo shirts and sweat fabrics benefit from a smoother surface and less pilling without incurring the high raw material loss of full combing. Prices sit between carded and combed cotton.
