Hemp blend fabric

Blended fabric combining hemp with a softer fibre (usually cotton) — pairs high strength and UV protection with a comfortable hand.
Description
Hemp blends combine hemp fibre (Cannabis sativa) with a softer companion — common ratios are 55 % hemp / 45 % cotton, 60 % hemp / 40 % organic cotton or blends with lyocell. Pure hemp feels crisp and slightly stiff at first; adding cotton or Tencel improves softness while preserving hemp's key advantages.
Hemp is one of the strongest natural fibres — up to three times stronger than cotton — and is antibacterial, absorbent, breathable and naturally UV-protective. Cultivation requires no pesticides and about half the water of cotton. In finished garments hemp blends show a slightly rustic look with a subtle sheen.
