Description
Cotton flannel is a light-to-mid-weight cotton fabric raised on one or both sides for a short, soft pile. The ground is either plain or twill weave. Unlike traditional wool flannel, cotton flannel is softer, easier to care for and significantly cheaper.
Typical weights range from 120 to 220 g/m². The raised pile traps still air and provides warmth without bulk — ideal for autumn and winter shirts in classic checks (buffalo plaid, tartan), pyjamas, soft bed linen and baby textiles. Flannel shrinks slightly on first wash; sanforised material minimises this.
